DIATOMS (2014)

The inspiration for the collection was a photographic exhibition of quartz algae diatoms "Wonders of the river revealed - Biodiversity of diatoms Ljubljanica" organized by the Institute for the Protection of Natural Heritage Luther and the National Institute of Biology. Algae were immediately very familiar to us and quickly became our source of inspiration. They seemed like knitted organic three-dimensional lace. The materials used were viscose and cotton in different shapes and proportions, we mixed them according to the desired effect, volume or drop in texture. Our ambition was to let the pattern choose its own color and offer a solution or idea for a silhouette in which a woman or a man will feel free, comfortable and beautiful. The same applies to shoes, sneakers or loungewear, which were designed and manufactured in Alpina, and later transformed into Draž textures.

DIATOMEJA (2014)

Inspiracija za kolekcijo je bila fotografska razstava kremenastih alg diatomej “Razkrita čudesa reke - Biotska pestrost diatomej Ljubljanice” v organizaciji Inštituta za varstvo naravne dediščine Lutra in Nacionalnega inštituta za biologijo. Alge so nama bile takoj zelo domače in so hitro postale vir inspiracije. Zdele se se nama kot pletene organske trodimenzionalne čipke. Od materialov sva uporabila viskozo in bombaž v različnih oblikah in razmerjih, mešala sva jih glede na želeni učinek, volumen ali padec teksture. Najina ambicija je bila pustiti vzorcu, da si sam izbere barvo in ponudi rešitev oziroma idejo za silhueto, v kateri se bosta ženska ali moški počutila svobodno, udobno in lepo. Enako velja tudi za čevlje, superge ali salonarje, ki so jih oblikovali in izdelali v Alpini, kasneje pa preoblekli v teksture Draž.
