KALISTO (2018)

Late astrophysicist Stephen Hawking once said, “Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet.” Humans have been looking up since the dawn of time, searching for answers to the questions of our existence and destiny. While it only takes our naked eye to notice the magic of the night sky, our curiosity has kept opening new windows into the universe - from the first telescope Galilleo used in 1610 to reveal Saturn’s rings and Jupiter’s moons, to Hubble’s breathtaking images from its launch in 1990 to now several years after its intended retirement. Quite literally out-of-worldly images continue to wow us: the famous Hubble’s Pillars of Creation in the Eagle nebula, Saturn’s rings captured by Cassini spacecraft, astonishing Earth rising from our moon's horizon, as seen by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, Juno’s images of Jupiter’s storms which could easily be mistaken for one of Van Gogh’s masterpieces ... Draž, remembered to look up at the stars and not down at their feet, so it should come as no surprise that they have transformed the wonders of the universe into knitwear, gently draping human bodies with celestial ones.

Throughout the process of designing and manufacturing clothing, Draž keeps in mind its application, aesthetic and sustainable qualities - a concept growing in popularity, which Draž has heeded to from its very beginnings. Contours follow the patterns offered by the knitted planets, as well as earthly forms reminiscent of planetary rings. The chief goal remains creating user-friendly clothing offering the comfort of a sweat suit and elegance of an evening gown. Once again, the collection is supplemented by carefully designed leather and knitted footwear, which has been recognised in its own right under the brand Alpina Draž.

KALISTO (2018)
